Ted Stephens:
Grew up and attended K-12 in Bonham TX graduating May 1985.
Graduated with a BA (Dbl major. Mass comm/poli sci) from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ar. May 1989
Completed his MBA from Keller Graduate school of management with emphasis on Project Management. Summer 2012.
Married Carrie Aaron Stephens in 2017. Carrie and Ted each have 3 sons by previous marriages and now have six sons and five grandchildren!
4th generation builder
Parents: Dad (Kenneth) is a retired industrial design engineer. Mom (Patsy) drew house plans, genealogy and did mortgage title work.
Started in the Construction industry in 1997 as an outside salesman for Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Co. Started designing and building in 1999.
Designs for numerous Builders in NTX and Southern OK.
Built 92 homes to date, worked on seven large apartment complexes (new and rehab) and designed more than 400 homes, barndominiums, retail commercial projects and remodels/ additions.
Work Ethic philosophies:
1. Zoom in / Zoom out - Don't miss the forest for the trees. Manage the details but step back and see how those details work with the overall goal.
2. Quality First: If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right. Do it right the first time!. Commit to quality and live by it at any cost. The family name is depends on it!
3. Work Hard / Play Hard - What is the point in coming to work everyday if you can't have a little fun? It's easier if you love what you do, then go home and have fun with the family.
4. Everybody Wins - Be respectful, fair and honest in dealing with people; both the customer and those that work with you. Longevity depends on relationships.
5. And Then Some - Value Added - Everything we do should add value to the home or the experience of building. Do what is required of us and then some. Always give a little more.
6. Form and Function - Our homes should be pragmatic works of art that we not only live in, but they function well for those living in them.
7. Communicate, communicate and communicate some more.

John Andersen joined SDB in the summer of 2017 and has become a tremendous asset to our team. He is dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers and clients and has worked diligently these past few years, learning the ins and outs of the construction business and earning his Texas Real Estate License. With an excellent understanding of the north Texas market and how homes are designed and should be built, John does whatever it takes to help the team, whether that is working on the perfect design, ordering materials or finding the perfect lot or acreage for our customers and clients.

John and his fiance, Mandy, live in Bedford, Tx where they spend much of their evening hours running to and from soccer, volleyball and Tae Kwon Do with four fun kids: two teenaged girls and two young boys. Prior to joining the SDB team, John worked the Dallas morning radio scene for 5 years, producing the Zazza & Julie morning show, then later he produced the Leigh Ann & Courtney Kerr show during the afternoon drive on KVIL 103.7. After radio ended, he had a few opportunities to host his own morning show outside of the state, but decided to keep his family close to home here in North Texas.

Obviously with this type of background, John is a big "people person" with excellent verbal communication skills. Without a doubt, he forms long lasting relationships and always makes our customers feel at home, even before their home design is finished. Having John on our team allows SDB to be a one stop shop. No matter what your needs are; to sell your current home, design your new home and / or build your new home, John is there to guide you through the process and answer all of your questions.
